FAQS

What is core aeration?

The mechanical means to plug holes through the turf. This loosens soil and decreases the soils compaction. This allows roots to thrive with more access to air, water and nutrients.

What is overseeding?

Overseeding is applying grass seed over the top of the grass already established in the lawn. Done in conjunction with aeration, seed falls into spaces created from the core aeration machine.

What are the benefits of it?

Aeration decreases soil compaction. Decreased soil compaction allows roots better access to water, air, and nutrients. This increases root density and depth. Root density can help plants retain more moisture during times of drought. Increased disease resistance.

How will I know it needs to be done?

Soil Core Compaction testers are the easiest to determine. I can tell by a regular soil core sampling tool.

How often should I do it?

One to two times per year is sufficient for most applications. Some turf varieties and conditions require more or different types of aeration.

Can't I do it myself?

Yes but it is not very easy. Renting a machine, drop off and pick, cleaning and operation of the machine can be quite the project.

Why should I choose you?

We offer the most complete property care packages in the industry. We use high end equipment and top quality products.

What happens if I don't?

Roots will suffer from compaction issues and will have poor growth.

Do I need to water my yard after this service?

We will give you a watering schedule depending on the seed provided. If no seed is applied, no need to water.

There are these weird plugs all over my yard, what am I supposed to do with them?

Nothing at all. Continue on with your usual lawn care. These plugs will naturally decompose back into the ground over the course of about three weeks with routine mowing. You may need to sharpen the blades and clean the mower deck in a little more detail.

Should I cut my grass higher after this service?

No, continue to cut grass normal 2.75"-3.5" according to the seasonal needs.
